New Executive Education Opportunity for UC Berkeley Haas MBA Alumni
In a January 31, 2011 Bloomberg Businessweek post, Louis Lavelle comments on the University of California, Berkeley's new program available to Haas School of Business alumni. The program provides the opportunity for alumni from any one of the three Haas MBA programs to take advantage of two days of free executive education programs anytime within five years of graduation from the business school.
Alumni Program to Follow Spirit of Lifelong Learning
The new program piggybacks off of the Haas Alumni Audit Program that enables alumni to audit MBA courses for free, assuming space is available in the class. Both the Audit Program, as well as the executive education program fall in line with the school's philosophy about continuing education, even after completion of a degree program. Dean Richard Lyons remarked that "the culture at Berkeley-Haas is that we are passionate about learning." This is evidenced in one of the school's four defining principles of "Students Always," which captures the spirit of lifelong learning.
The first classes eligible for the program are those graduating in 2011. Those also include the Haas MBA classes graduating in May, as well as the class graduating as part of the joint executive MBA with Columbia in February.
