Rutgers Offers ‘Mini-MBA’ in Pay-Per-Click

A new online “mini-MBA program” at Rutgers, the state university of New Jersey, offers a course in pay-per-click advertising (PPC), the school announced.

The 10-week course, to be launched this fall, will involve faculty members from the university’s nationally ranked MBA program. The online format makes use of videos and virtual office hours, where students can receive feedback on assignments and ask questions.

The course is designed for professionals in marketing, advertising, branding, communications and sales, or anyone else who makes use of PPC. Students will participate in faculty-evaluated exercises, quizzes, and a final project and exam.  

“To be really cost-effective, a PPC campaign needs to be led by someone with a strong understanding of the fundamentals and with expertise in keyword research and bidding strategies,” says Eric Greenberg, director of marketing programs at the Rutgers Center for Management Development. “Our PPC course teaches all that — taking students through every step of the process, concluding with how to create meaningful post-launch reports.”

The cost of the Online Mini-MBA: Pay Per Click Program is $3,500, which includes all instructional materials and fees. While the “mini-MBA” does not result in a degree, it may be possible to earn credit toward an MBA degree. The 10-week program will be held from October 10 to December 12, 2011.
