Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman might tell you to look into attending one of the business schools in Nebraska. Why? Industries connected to agriculture--the state's largest industry--are poised for growth, according to the governor. Additionally, more than 250 companies that have applied for Nebraska Advantage economic incentives since 2005 are investing $5.6 billion in capital and working toward creating close to 19,000 new jobs. These jobs include more than 5,000 new ones in the financial and insurance field and approximately 6,000 new jobs with telecommunications and business services providers. Though financial services companies and computer and software companies are industries identified in Nebraska as "standouts," other industries that could be positioned for growth include research and development; transportation, warehousing and logistics; and hospitality and tourism.
