Additionally, a $2 billion investment in a silicon plant was planned for Clarksville. Nashville and Memphis are the state's largest and busiest cities. Both are leading banking centers, and the state's Department of Labor and Workforce Development predicts growth in service-providing industries through 2018. These cities are also home to some of the largest manufacturing and distributing centers with the state, including International Paper Co. and Aladdin Industries LLC.
